A cold-storage door takes ice, traffic and wash-down every shift. Years later, what matters is whether it can still be adjusted, resealed and kept running. That is the case for buying one.

Parts are the harder question on an old door of any make. Updated contactors that came without wiring diagrams can be impossible to source.

Can an old Jamison door be kept running?

Often. Jamison doors from the 1960s are still in service. The controls are the harder part on an old door: updated contactors with no wiring diagrams can be impossible to source. Send photographs of the door and its controls and we will tell you whether a replacement is the answer.

Is there a Jamison door for a lab or wash-down room?

Yes, a fiberglass insulated door, 1¾ inches thick, for lab and wash-down rooms. Depending on the opening another door may suit it better, and we will say so.

What do you need to quote a Jamison door?

The opening size, the temperature inside and outside the door, how often it opens and what goes through it, how often the room is washed down, and the air velocity at the opening if you know it. Photographs of the existing opening help.
