Consulting on failed freezers and cold rooms.
Temperature-controlled rooms and freezer systems that have stopped working, including ones we did not build. Working out what went wrong is a real part of what we do, and has been for decades.
Consulting, and replacement with product we supply. We are not a general repair crew; see where we draw the line below.
The symptom is rarely where the cause is.
A frosted ceiling can be a vapor problem at a wall. A door that will not seal can be a slab that has heaved.
We have been called into failed cold rooms for decades, including ones somebody else built. We work out what went wrong, what it will take to put right, and whether the answer is replacement rather than patching.
What we get called in for.
Floors that heave
Ground under the slab freezes and expands, and the floor lifts. Sometimes the answer is a new freezer, or turning the room into a cooler.
Freezer floor insulationWalls and ceilings
Panel joints that open, frost and ice where the envelope is leaking, damage to panels and the structure they are fixed to.
Doors that stop sealing
Binding doors, failed heat at the seals, and openings that have moved with the floor.
Looking at a failed room is consulting, and we will do it for rooms we did not build. Fixing it is a different question. We do not run a general repair crew, install doors bought elsewhere or fix other contractors' work. Where a federal inspection citation puts a food plant's processing at risk, we will review it and may remediate. Repairs are quote-based and scoped to the product lines we sell or service. Call the office and ask for Don Ross.
Questions buyers ask
Will you look at a freezer you did not build?
Yes, as consulting. Working out why a room somebody else built has failed is something we have done for decades. Fixing another contractor's work is not something we take on.
Do you do general cold storage repair?
No general repair crew. Repair only where a federal inspection citation puts food processing at risk, quoted and scoped to the product lines we sell or service. Call the office and ask for Don Ross.
Why is my freezer floor cracking and lifting?
Usually because the ground under the slab has frozen and expanded. It is called frost heave, and it comes from the floor assembly under the slab. Read our page on freezer floor heave, then call.

Tell us what the room is doing.
What you are seeing, how long it has been happening and the room temperature. Photographs are the most useful thing you can attach.
