Insulated Panels

Fire-rated insulated wall panels: 1-, 2- and 3-hour walls.

Kingspan K-Roc insulated wall panels with a mineral fiber core, for walls that have to carry a fire rating. The core gets thicker as the rating goes up.

Installed by our crews, or supplied material-only to the contractor on the job.

The rating the drawings call for, and the wall that needs it. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

A rated wall without block.

A fire-rated panel wall is a viable alternative to tilt-up pre-cast concrete, or to 8 in. and 12 in. block, on a wall that has to carry a rating.

The panel face is also a washable surface as it arrives. Block is porous, so getting a cleanable wall out of it usually means a coating or epoxy system over it, and that coating needs upkeep.

These are wall assemblies. A rated ceiling is built from a conventional metal deck, not from these panels.

Rating and core.

  • One hour

    4" mineral fiber core.

  • Two hour

    6" mineral fiber core.

  • Three hour

    8" mineral fiber core.

  • The listing

K-Roc panels are tested and accepted by UL and FM, as a full wall assembly: the panel with its skins, joints and supports. Not the core on its own. We confirm the listing that covers your wall.

  • Rake ends and corners

Panels are field cut to the roof pitch at the rake end, and at corner intersects.

Send the rating and the wall.

Send the rating the drawings call for and the wall section or drawings. We will match the core to the rating and confirm the listing that covers the wall. When we supply the panels, you get the installation drawings, sectional details, fire-safing details, L/180 span conditions, fastening details, formed metal trims and anchor locations.

What thickness is a two-hour fire-rated wall panel?

6" with a mineral fiber core. A one-hour wall takes a 4" core and a three-hour wall an 8" core.

Do you supply fire-rated ceiling panels?

No. The ratings we supply are for wall panels. A rated ceiling is built from a conventional metal deck.

Is the fire rating a property of the panel?

Of the tested assembly. K-Roc panels are tested and accepted by UL and FM as a full wall assembly: the panel with its skins, joints and supports. We confirm the listing that covers your wall.

Why choose a rated panel wall over block?

It is a viable alternative to tilt-up pre-cast concrete or 8 in. and 12 in. block. The panel face is washable as it arrives; block is porous, usually needs a coating or epoxy system to be cleanable, and that coating needs upkeep.

What do we get with the panels for the drawings?

When we supply the panels: installation drawings, sectional details, fire-safing details, L/180 span conditions, fastening details, formed metal trims and anchor locations. Preliminary girt spacing is set for a basis of design of L/180.

Do you install fire-rated wall panels?

Either way. Our crews install them, or we supply them material-only to the contractor on the job.
